Mighty Gatecreeper takes the Pump House with 200 Stab Wounds and Enforced

Gatecreeper is not just an American death metal band; it is a powerhouse of explosive sound and gloomy atmospheres, led by vocalist Chase H. Mason, with Eric Wagner and Israel Garza on guitar, Metal Matt Arrebollo on drums and Alex Brown on bass. At the heart of the roaring wave of American death metal, Gatecreeper are poised to challenge the status quo with a new album on the horizon. Hitting the streets in May 2024, "Dark Superstition" promises to demonstrate Gatecreeper's ability to carve their own unique path through the genre. "We've been fine-tuning the song structures," explains Mason. "We are getting better at what we do". "Dark Superstition" explores themes of the supernatural, divination, fear of the unknown and magic. The title is also a tribute to a mountain range of the same name located in the band's home state of Arizona - a beautiful but fateful place shrouded in legend. Recorded at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, with Kurt Ballou of Converge at the helm, the album represents a fusion of Gatecreeper's experience, musical finesse and love of death metal. "There are a lot of bands in our lane," says Mason, "but we try to create our own."

Since their inception in 2013, Gatecreeper have consistently pushed the boundaries of death metal. Their 2014 self-titled EP cemented their status as credible interpreters of the old school. After signing with Relapse Records, they released their debut album "Sonoran Depravation" in 2016, which led to tours with bands such as Cannibal Corpse and Power Trip. In 2019, the world saw "Deserted", the album that earned them third place on Decibel Magazine's prestigious list of the 40 best albums of the year. 2022 brought them on Decibel Magazine's tour alongside Obituary and Municipal Waste.

Today, Gatecreeper is an iconic name in the world of death metal, touring globally under their own banner. Get a taste of their powerful and raw death metal when they take the stage at Pumpehuset on November 24, 2024.
