Zak Abel is a British artist who broke through after guest vocals on Gorgon City's UK Top-20 hit single 'Unmissable'.

Zak started writing his own songs and uploading them to YouTube at the age of 14. This led to him meeting the influential music producer, Joker, and signing a record deal in 2014. Zak and Joker released a four-song EP in 2015. Soon after, Zak released his solo project "One Hand On The Future", collaborating with Tom Misch on ''Beautiful Escape'' and Kaytranada on ''Say Sumthin''.

Those early collaborations gave Zak a taste as a songwriter, leading to the release of his debut album Only When We're Naked in 2017. His creative songwriting also helped him write hits for major artists such as Kygo, Avicii, R3hab & ZAYN, as well as Paloma Faith & John Legend.

With his combination of a deep vocal and fresh R&B-inspired pop, he released the single "Be Kind" in 2021. The song hit the Air Play charts in several European countries and reached the top 30 in the US. It has been crucial to the direction of Zak's upcoming second album, where he talks openly about issues such as mental health and channels themes of identity and mental struggles into his lyrics.
