Australian The Rumjacks provide the perfect mix of the nerve from punk and Celtic folk music
The Rumjacks are known for their engaging lyrics, passionate performance and a fusion of Celtic folk and punk rock.
With the band's latest EP "Brass for Gold" (2022), The Rumjacks continue to explore their musical boundaries. The EP contains eight energetic songs that demonstrate the band's ability to mix Celtic folklore with the raw energy of punk rock. "Brass for Gold is as much as an EP can possibly offer and still be called an EP. In true Rumjacker fashion, these songs represent a variety of different stories. The topics range from lovesick nostalgia, to unfortunate war heroes, and a few lighthearted drinking songs for good measure," says the band's lead singer.
The band's latest album, "Hestia" from 2021, has also been an unqualified success, both critically and artistically. The album introduced new singer-songwriter Mike Rivkees on lead vocals, bringing a refreshing evolution to the band that connected old and new fans. ''Hestia'' contains songs like "Bullhead" and "Sainted Millions" that demonstrate The Rumjacks' skill as songwriters and their ability to create thought-provoking lyrics.
