Show Me The Body knocks down Pumpehuset in August
Show Me The Body, the raucous hardcore trio from New York City, consists of Julian Cashwan Pratt (banjo and vocals), Harlan Steed (bass) and Jackie McDermott (drums). Since 2015, the band has revolutionized the DIY scene in NYC with alternative spaces for the youth and has expanded their reach globally through intense live shows and their CORPUS NYC platform.
Their latest studio album, "Trouble the Water," represents the culmination of nearly a decade of fighting New York City's structural indifference. It is a powerful call to a global community to embrace the importance of family building and transformation. The album celebrates the spirit of New York and the sound of the city's people and subcultures. With Pratt's captivating poetry and Steed's electronic experiments, the band shows their most authentic side.
Recorded at their own CORPUS Studios in Long Island City with producer Arthur Rizik, "Trouble the Water" draws on the primal power of collective movement and cohesion. Previously, the band received acclaim for the album "Dog Whistle" (2019), which was praised by NME as a tribute to the community that is at the heart of Show Me The Body, combined with the raw sound that makes them a unique shout-out to the punk scene.
Since 2015, Show Me The Body has expanded their influence into an independent record label, recording studio and community organizing platform. Their recent "Half-A-USA" tour and "In Broad Daylight" festivals in New York and Los Angeles cement their status as groundbreaking acts who continue to push the boundaries of the hardcore genre.
