PUMPEHUSET and All Things Live presents
Richie Kotzen

The front man from The Winery Dogs is ready to go solo in the Pumpehuset

Richie Kotzen has always been on a clear mission as an artist. Although he is recognized worldwide as an excellent guitar player, an emotional singer and dynamic live performer, his most important task is to maintain a special common thread in his music and especially his songwriting. Good songs are truly Kotzen's special trademark, and the man has spent decades making sure he delivers the goods - always.

As a vocalist, Kotzen's style is at the intersection of Paul Rodgers, Terence Trent D'Arby (better known these days as Sananda Maitreya) and Rod Stewart. The vocal energy is also born into his love for strong songwriting, where he has been inspired by Daryl Hall and Don Henley, among others.

The nerve about Richie Kotzen is that he can make the everyday and mundane seem magical: "I'm more of a conversational writer," explains Kotzen. "I don't write about aliens and spaceships. It's more about what I think and what I feel. I wait until I have something to say - and usually that's when it all comes together. When something hits me, sing I put it into my phone and then it either lives there and waits for another day or I work on it and it ends up on an album. That's my process."

Richie Kotzen is known as being part of several rock acts such as SMITH/KOTZEN, which was made in collaboration with his old friend and guitarist/backing vocalist in Iron Maiden, Adrian Smith, and not least the rock trio, The Winery Dogs, with whom he visited Copenhagen in the autumn, where music site RockZeit.dk among other things wrote: "The trio was in top form and there were no limits to their balancing skills, and it was incredible what they could squeeze into the hard rock genre."

This time you can experience Kotzen in solo format, where he will give the audience an insight into the kind of music he himself knows and fell in love with as a young man, and which he still continues to pay tribute to and rethink. The sound of Rochie Kotzen is a walk down the nostalgic rock path, where small, innovative and surprising touches spring forth.
