Gregory Alan Isakov plays poignant folk anthems in Pumpehuset
After a beautiful concert in DR's Koncerthuset last year, the formidable singer/songwriter returns to Denmark when he gives a concert in Pumpehuset with the songs from his new album on 7 December.
"A melodic and beautiful evening" with "top shelf indie folk rock" wrote GAFFA when Gregory Alan Isakov gave a moving and intimate concert in DR Koncerthuset's Studio 2 in 2022.
The formidable singer and songwriter, who was born in South Africa and lives in the USA, also possesses an unusual musical talent. His beautiful folk-sounding melodies and strong lyrical lyrics are inspired by giants like Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen, but Gregory Alan Isakov has his own unique voice and tone.
Gregory Alan Isakov debuted in 2003 with the self-released album "Rust Colored Stones", and in the same way he released several albums in the following years, until in 2013 he started the record company Suitcase Town Music, whose first release was his fifth long-player, "The Weatherman" - and he continues to publish his music through this.
Despite his insistence on doing things his own way, Gregory Alan Isakov has created a successful career with plenty of recognition and international attention. It was most significant when his album "Evening Machine" in 2019 was nominated for a Grammy for "Best Folk Album" - but in general he is a popular and beloved concert name who has toured extensively in the USA and Europe in particular.
On August 18, he will be ready with the new album "Appaloosa Bones", from which the beautiful single "The Fall" is already out. And on December 7, he is ready to present the new tracks to his Danish fans when he gives a concert here at home in the atmospheric setting of Pumpehuset.
