Demon Head lægger vejen forbi Pumpehuset i forbindelse med deres femte studiealbum

Demon Head proudly announce the release of their fifth full-length album, 'Through Holes Shine the Stars', on Svart Records. The album marks a milestone for the band, who celebrated their 10th anniversary last year. With a deeper, darker sound than previous releases, the album presents a unique blend of introspection and extroversion that the band is known for.

Bassist Mikkel Fuglsang describes the album as a new phase for the band: "Our first four records have created a structure that leads to the level we have reached now." The album's eight tracks were written collectively from 2019-2022 and recorded by the band themselves between October 2022 and March 2023 in their studios in Copenhagen and on the west coast of Ireland.

Producer and guitarist Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen explains that the long recording process has ensured a balance between precision and artistic expression. Flemming Rasmussen, known for his work with Metallica, has been responsible for the mixing, which according to vocalist Marcus Ferreira Larsen has resulted in a transparent mix that enhances the album's compositions.

With a running time of 47 minutes, this is Demon Head's most comprehensive work. Songs like "The Chalice" and "Our Winged Mother" showcase the band's ability to mix heavy riffs with complex arrangements. Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen describes "Frost" as a celebration of rhythmic music, while "This Vessel Is Willing" appears as an epilogue with improvised elements and deep emotional vocals.

Lyrically, 'Through Holes Shine the Stars' takes a big step forward with lyrics that read like poetic short stories, filled with existential despair and faint but unwavering hope. The album's ending suggests that Demon Head are not done with their musical exploration, but may have begun a new era.

With 'Through Holes Shine the Stars', Demon Head cement their place in the musical wilderness with a powerful and emotional release that promises more exciting music to come.

On 6 October, Demon Head and the new album can be experienced live in Pumpehuset - SCIMITAR and SPIRACLE are support.

SCIMITAR
Demon Head states:

Scimitar is a new band, but they have already created cracks in reality for those who have listened. Both complex and manic, and somehow beautiful. This is very much metal, but even more so it is music beyond metal. The people behind this frantic mystery are our close friends, true artists and down-to-earth rockers. They have been a part of our lives and musical journey since we were all much younger and have played at almost all of our previous release gigs. On this new album, a few of them even participate on the songs themselves. We welcome Scimitar.

SPIRACLE
Demonhead states:

Spiracle is a tidal wave of cascading and exquisite sound waves that will wash over you with its dark allure. Our friend Solveig Roseth is a virtuoso mezzo-soprano, multi-instrumentalist and composer, and in this project she turns to the dark arts with voice, body and soul. You will journey through macabre power electronics, ambient drones, a dark mirror of pop songs and much more, all seamlessly guided by Solveig's mesmerizing presence.
