PUMPEHUSET and Live Nation presents
Queensrÿche

The influential heavy metal band Queensrÿche returns to Pumpehuset on Thursday 6 February 2025

The American heavy metal band Queensrÿche was formed in 1982 in Bellevue, Washington, and is founded by guitarists Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo, bassist Eddie Jackson, drummer Scott Rockenfield and singer Geoff Tate. They quickly became known for their unique sound that combined elements of progressive rock and heavy metal, as well as their complex and conceptual lyrics.

The band's breakthrough came in 1988 with the album "Operation: Mindcrime", a concept record that tells a coherent story of corruption, addiction and political manipulation. This album is often considered one of the best concept albums in heavy metal history.

In 1990, Queensrÿche released the album "Empire", which contained the hit single "Silent Lucidity". The power ballad brought the band widespread commercial success and a Grammy Award nomination. "Empire" is their most commercially successful album to date, selling millions of copies and securing them a place in the heavy metal stardom.

Over the years, Queensrÿche has experienced several changes in their line-up. Geoff Tate left the band in 2012 and Todd La Torre then became the new lead singer and the band continued to release music and tour.

Queensrÿche continue to influence the heavy metal genre, and their innovative approach to music has secured them a dedicated fan base worldwide. Their combination of technical prowess, powerful melodies and profound lyrics have made them one of the most respected and influential bands in the genre.

Don't miss experiencing Queensrÿche live when they play at Pumpehuset on Thursday 6 February 2025.
