Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, known as King Promise, is a versatile artist in Afrobeats, Highlife, R&B and Hip-Hop. Inspired by his father's musical taste, he has created hits such as "Thank God", "Oh Yeah", "Commando" and the global hit "Terminator".

Born on August 16, 1995 in Nungua, Accra, Ghana, King Promise was inspired by his father's extensive music collection spanning many genres. His musical journey began under the name Boy Pee, and he has since developed into one of Africa's most prominent music stars. His career took off with the release of the hit single "Thank God" in 2016, which featured British-Ghanaian artist Fuse ODG and was produced by Killbeatz.

King Promise has cemented his status as an international superstar with hits like "Oh Yeah", "Commando" and the global 2023 hit "Terminator". He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry including Wizkid, Sarkodie, R2Bees, Mr. Eazi, GuiltyBeatz and Juls.

His career includes a sold-out 21-city tour in 2022, winner of Album of the Year 2023 at the VGMAs and several other awards.
