The Northern Irish rock trio celebrates 30 years
Therapy? is a Northern Irish rock band from Larne, formed in 1989 by guitarist and vocalist Andy Cairns. In addition to Cairns, the band consists of Michael McKeegan on bass and vocals and Neil Cooper on drums. The band is famous for their unique fusion of punk, alternative and hard rock, often characterized by intense guitars, sharp lyrics and energetic performances.
The band debuted with the album "Babyteeth" in 1991, marking the beginning of a long and successful career. However, they first gained international recognition with the release of the album "Troublegum" in 1994, for which they are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. "Troublegum" contains hits like "Screamager" and "Nowhere".
Over the years, the band has released several albums, including "Infernal Love" (1995), "High Anxiety" (2003) and "Hard Cold Fire" (2023), spanning a wide spectrum of genres, from alternative rock and punk to industrial and acoustic music. Their lyrics are often deeply personal and touch on topics such as mental health, relationships and social problems.
