The Pharcyde (Fatlip, Slimkid3 & Imani) broke through in 1992 with their debut album Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, which featured unforgettable tracks like Passin’ Me By, Ya Mama and Oh Shit. The album was quickly hailed as one of the best hip-hop releases of all time by The Source.
In the midst of an era dominated by gangster rap on the West Coast, The Pharcyde brought a fresh and playful sound that was reminiscent of the East Coast roots of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest – creating their own take on hip-hop that paved the way for the mainstream.

Labcabincalifornia, released in 1995 on the Delicious Vinyl label and produced by the visionary J Dilla, includes classics like Runnin’, She Said and Drop – the latter with a groundbreaking music video directed by Spike Jonze himself. And now the album is 30 years old.

Earlier this year they went on an arena tour in the US with Cypress Hill, and in May they released the new EP Timeless with four brand new tracks. So The Pharcyde are still hot.
