One of Australia's leading extreme progressive metal bands, Ne Obliviscaris, return to the Pump House on Thursday 17 October 2024.
Ne Obliviscaris is an Australian extreme progressive metal band, formed in Melbourne in 2003. The band is known for their unique sound, which combines elements of death metal, black metal, and progressive metal with classical music and jazz. Their complex musical structures and technical prowess have earned them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. The band makes use of both traditional metal instruments and the violin, which adds an extra dimension to their music. Ne Obliviscaris has released several albums, of which "Portal of I" (2012) and "Urn" (2017) are among the most notable.
"Exul" is the title of the fourth album from Ne Obliviscaris. The album, released last year (2023), encapsulates the band's genre-bending ethos. Their patented combination of emotion and beauty hits harder than ever before, especially when the violin parts elegantly glide around the guitar riffs. The duality of lead singer Charles' clean vocals and Xenoyr's growls is still the narrative anchor and lifts their sophisticated songs into the top class when it comes to composition.
Experience Ne Obliviscaris live in Pumpehuset on Thursday 17 October 2024.
