Fransk drømmepop-projekt er klar til Pumpehuset
The French pop project Kid Francescoli has filled the biggest clubs for years with their mix of folk and electronic pop, seasoned with elements of r'n'b.
The project, which started in Marseille in 2002, was originally a solo project by Mathieu Hocine, with the name referring to former Uruguayan soccer star Enzo Francescoli. In 2013, the New York-born singer Julia Minkin came on board, and she was just the piece that the project had been missing: Today, Kid Francescoli's sound is a perfectly balanced listening experience, where the contrast between Minkin's light, airy voice and Hocine's deeper tones strike a nostalgic, but at the same time also hopeful nerve in the listener.
On September 22, Kid Francescoli's new album Sunset Blue was released, which consists of collaborations with, among others, the New York duo Turbo Groth and the multi-talented Bamby H2o. The album is a beautiful collection of tracks that balance between the soulful and danceable universe, and is based on Hocine's origins and life stories.
Tickets go on sale on 20 October 2023.
