Katla, the sonic masters of doom are ready to topple Pumpehuset
Katla's sound is extreme and their live shows are a big celebration of life. With elements of sludge, black and death metal, they manage to create a heavy and fuzzed soundscape, which they balance with a proper assful self-irony. An evening with Katla offers long hair, leather vests with bare bellies underneath and full beards with lots of beer residue in them. They play hard and celebrate every show as if it were their last, and therefore the audience always gets a unique and unforgettable experience of Katla live!
The trio has gained recognition on the Danish metal scene in their short lifetime. Among other things, they received eight out of 10 death's heads from the music blog Heavymetal.dk for their show 2020-EP Warmongering Luciferians Chapter 1. Devilution.dk was also excited about their Copenhell show in 2022, where, among other things, they wrote "show that featured fire, constant crowdsurfing and wholehearted headbanging".
Most recently, Katla toured Denmark with Baest, but now they are ready with their headliner show at Pumpehuset.
GRAVA er en dansk/færøsk trio fra København bestående af Niels Asger Svensson (vokal/bass), Atli Brix Kamban (vokal/guitar) og Casper Axilgård (trommer). Bandets sange kredser sig om menneskets møde med døden, set gennem de døendes øjne. Det fragmenterede billedsprog fortæller glimtvis om f.eks. et skibsforlis i et ishav (“WAVES”), en hekseafbrænding (“ALIGHT”) og en slaveopstand vævet sammen i et infernalsk lydbillede (“APPIAN WAY”).
På scenen er GRAVA både indædt og bistert, og de to frontvokaler kappes om at kanalisere det ubehag, som har inspireret det dystre tekstunivers. GRAVA debutalbum “Weight of a God” udkom 28. november 2022. Albummet blev indspillet live i Black Tornado studiet og er produceret af Troels Damgaard Holm.
