Irish folk pop talent comes to Pumpehuset
Darren Kiely was born in the small town of Co. Cork in Ireland. His folk-inspired pop sound stems from his fondness for traditional Irish music combined with contemporary artists such as The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons and Noah Kahan. Already at the age of five, Darren learned to play the tin flute. When he was eight years old he started playing the violin and later taught himself to play the guitar. Darren started singing in 2019 and quickly gained attention for his raw and passionate vocals and emotional delivery. After winning numerous honors at the national level in Irish traditional music, Darren found his way to New York City in 2022 to continue developing his own music and sound, and soon after ended up in Nashville.
His debut EP, 'Lost', was released last fall. On 'Lost' you will find, in addition to the fan favorite "Sunrise", the new track "Mom & Dad", which debuted in the Top-40 on the Irish singles chart and landed a place in the Top-5 on the Irish Homegrown chart. After touring Ireland with the debut EP, he released his second EP 'From The Dark' earlier this year. In this connection, Darren Kiely is ready for his first international headline shows, and will stop by Pumpehuset in February.
