FRANKLIN ZOO er et progressivt stoner band fra København.

Med vokale undertoner fra 90'ernes Seattlescene i kombination med progressive elementer og tålmodig og tung spillestil har det ganske erfarne band med et ikke uanseeligt udgivelses- og live-cv i både ind- og udland det seneste årti udviklet en unik sound, som sammen med bundærlige, poetiske tekster munder ud i et nærværende, eftertænksomt udtryk, som taler direkte til hjerte, hjerne og nerve.

Senest udgav de 31. maj 2019 den næsten 8 minutter lange single ”The Chameleon” (prod. Tue Madsen, Antfarm Studios) på alle digitale platforme og med en æstetisk livevideo af Rasmus G. Sejersen (The Psyke Project, LLNN m.fl.). Singlen er forløber til næste album, som påregnes løbende indspillet som den kunstneriske parathed byder og udgives formentlig i 2020.

A new old group of musicians, a black belt fuzz macine getting together in one room, with a mission: to capture the energy from endless hours of jamming and composing.Tthree people in the same space, burning like tractors on a field, with blasting drums and roaring tube amplifiers; just pure energy, and pure connection. No studio windows, no headphones or stupid wires to obscure the energies. No world wide web or dinners to be cooked, and no diapers to be changed. Just music and a couple of beers. That is what has been committed to this record which is about to unfold before you, and your eardrums. eight songs with thunderous action, and intimate qualities. lyrical themes are zig zagging through what some might call reality or today or tomorrow or death or darkness; all written by whales of wrath. This band is going nowhere fast, and slow. they are right there, playing in your living room, in the infinite grooves, and in the gutter. So please meditate, take your five o’ clock drug, turn it up, and sit back. or put the pedal to the metal (but take care of your fellow road users). ‘cause this is ‘on the verge of nothing’: a collection of stone and dirt and tectonic tantrum by the sledge.
